I have gone back to regular supermarket deliveries.  All the best quality fruit and veg, nothing lost, missing or damaged.  

Just had my 3rd delivery in 3 weeks, 3 different drivers.

I rang up the delivery section of thier office to thank them for thier ontime, or early deliveries and to tell them about thier polite and helpfull deliveris staff.

They were gobsmaked that I had taken time to let them know.


They save me driving down into town, getting my ankles bashed with all the trollies and then having to stand in mindless ques to pay for it all/  Then cart it all out to the car, cart it all into the house and so on etc etc

Why shouldnt I thank them

Too True Skruntie --- we have been having ours delivered from ASDA every couple of weeks. Used to use Tesco -- but they were next to useless, always late, half the stuff missing and often they would substitute with something more expensive and charge for it.  If ASDA sub with more expensive items at least they still charge the original price!

So far, from a variety of sources, we have also managed to get the delivery free codes, so haven't coughed up for the delivery charge yet.

But, even when we have to pay the charge I reckon we are still saving money (I am an inveterate impulse buyer -- which I can no longer do) and our ASDA is a few miles away -- right through the centre of town (best fuel drinking traffic!).

We have had the same driver for a while and he was somewhat surprised when I presented him with a Christmas "bonus" .... don't people do that anymore ?

never thank them, they will be late next time, ive a yearly gas check tomorrow. anytime after 1pm and before 6pm they said. no rather way, before 3 or i go out. i sat waiting all day last yr, didnt even have the decency to ring to say they werent coming, and i lost a days pay waiting in for them. w*****s

i used to do home delivery for a large supermarket as a second job and was actually quite hard work not the lifting or driving but finding house names in the dark over winter,,,,,   basically these drivers are under a lot of pressure and rarely get the recognition they deserve

i walked out in the end due to excessive hours,,,   i was meant to do 6pm till 10 pm but i was lucky if i was home for 12.30am and they could not see a problem with it

it was the age old problem that if you are good at your job you get given more work to do and it was not unheard of to have over 20 deliveries in one evening (supposedly within 4 hours) over sometimes a distance of 70+miles

i had to have new kitchen taps last yr, pr**k couldnt undo them so he got out an angle grinder, cut hole in me sink with it. then replaced the sink while i was out, i left me boy here to keep an eye on him. i had a square edge sink when i went out, he renewed with a round edge sink. a yr ago and ive still got 4 rather holes in my worktop filled with silicone.

I work for Tesco as team leader for .com.  Its quite a good service, I think it depends on where you get your delivery from as to what kind of service you will get unfortunately.  We have had 0% complains this week so far, considering the target is 3.5% and most stores fail this every week our customers are genuinely happy apart from the odd few who will moan about anything!

The drivers are not supposeded to accept tips but when I was out over xmas last year driving it was a welcome bonus

If any of you have any problems with Tesco.com grocery orders that you are sturggling to get sorted then give me a shout and I will try and help you out if possible.

It's Asda that I use.  I am also an impulse buyer, so saving a forune there.  Loads of discounts I have had I feel I break even on delivey.

Would be interested in knowing more about the the voucher codes though.

Dont buy any form of media or publication these days.  Havent done so for years.
