with reference to a previous post whereas my brother in law killed his engine , we have managed to secure a low mileage replacement engine for £130 (a bargain we thought) ,
however the seller cannot remember if it was removed from a manual or auto miggy, but im pretty sure i have seen manual ones on feebay

am i right in thinking that if it was removed from a manual all i need to do is put the flywheel and torque convertor from the old engine onto the new one

Are the 2.0 manuals rare then? I didn't know there was such a thing tbh.

i think the 2.0 manuals are about 50/50 with auto's. Ive had 3 manual 2litre omegas in the past, but not seen any autos up here.

Not very rare here anyway. Omegas in general are very rare over here and are extremely underrated and overpriced :-?
Anyway 90% of them are 2.0 manuals. My dad had one before his v6 And I have one. I see the odd auto and not one other v6

Ahh, fair enough. My grandfather was looking for a Mig about 3 years ago and couldn't find a single manual one! So he got a 52 plate Vectra LS instead. Wish he had gotten an auto Mig!

yeah, providing the donor engine has its flywheel removed already. if i remember right you MUST leave the TC attached to the box not the engine when removing.

Isn't there a small needle race bearing down the end of the crank on a manual  for the g/box input shaft to sit in??
Or is it the other way round ......  :-/ :-/ :-/

your on about the plastic spigot arnt you andy?
i cant remember which way round... i think if your going auto to manual then you need it but not other way round

right i have found out the donor engine is definitely from a manual 2.0, im assuming it should be straight forward then guys

It's just plastic is it? I could have sworn that the pictures I've seen on the Senator/Carlton were of a proper needle race bearing and just assumed ....... might've realised that the Omega would have cut corners!

My 2.6CD is a manual,but all the other 2.6's that I have seen have been auto.
So pretty rare I think.
