Well i got to renew mine this year as i get to the dreaded 50 as hgv and psv have have medical every 5 years after 45 years old ,so thats another £100 + for leicence and medical,

Mine expires December this year...Got one for free last time as i waited until my points could be removed (5 years), posted it as a (free) change of address (which it was) and got the photocard one..

Are the old paper ones still legal??

my photo licence expires same time as my passport...double whammy !!!

Yep mines due for renewal...plus they gotta take 9 pts off now as they`ve run out....WHHHOOOO HHHHOOO Cleabn licence at last.....wonder how long that will last :-/

I've still got a pinky/green paper one which is a bit tatty but i'll hang onto it as long as possible

Me too !  Don't seen the need to have a plastic. Paper jobbie is usually required along with the plastic anyway.

Mainly useful if you travel abroad and want to hire a car... Some countries are getting really fussy about paper licences

Plastic one is a waste of time - everyone only wants to see the paper part !
