Just to confirm which DVD - V6 or 2.2 etc - pushing you luck if both ;D
If you transfer money bank charges  will be more than DVD cost >:(

Hi,
My car is a 2000 Opel Omega 2.6 V6, I'm pretty sure it's an Omega B, but definitely V6 2.6L.
The transfer would be from a UK account so no heavy charges, but yes if I was transferring from here in SA the charges would be more than the cost.

Cheers

Brad

Is the 2.6 Cambelt change same as the 2.5  :-?

Mostly, although I suspect the 2.6 has the same fixed lower idler as in the 3.2.   There are posts about this on the forum,  and I think one of the differences is you route the belt anticlockwise from the crank, rather than clockwise as usual and in the dvd.   But all this with the proviso that I have never done it...

I've done a 2.6 cambelt change following the DVD, and apart from the lower idler being fixed (i.e. not adjusted to 3 o'clock as per the DVD, if I understand it correctly), it was straightforward. I routed the belt clockwise without any problems.

The only thing you need to be aware of is setting the timing - because you can't adjust the lower idler, the job may require a few more goes to get everything timed up properly (the whole job took me about 4 hours - my first ever cambelt).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice, I've a couple of mates who work with Opels regularly, it's just the Omega isn't that common here.

Someone told me the 2.6 is very similar to the Isuzu (Vauxhall) engine fitted in the Frontera (Frontier here), any one any comments ?

Hi,

No problem, our shipment won't leave Heathrow till the 16th at the earliest, might even be a week later.

Cheers
