Why without sedation? You plonker! lol

I had y first without sedation, prob the worst experience of my life!!

If anyone every thinks about having a Gastroscopy (gastro-endoscopy) without sedation............DONT!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Been there done that ... entirely agree with Gaffers  NEVER AGAIN !!!

yep..hear that before and really scared ..so will never ever try that.. :o

The reason I chose the throat spray the first time was when I was deciding which to do this bloke came in who said he had just had one without sedation and it was fine...

LOL --- I used to work in the operating theatres ---- in the "old days" when they removed the prostate through the old todger.  It's a blessing the patient is asleep!!!  Basically they used to pass metal tubes down it, getter ever wider until the poor old boy had stretched enough to get the instruments down .... made my eyes water just to be in the same room !!!!!

Needed to check out my Kidneys due to some big abnormalities on a CT scan.

NEVER again, the pain was unbelivable.

The burning sensation as they squirted the (next to useless) anaesthetic down my japs eye was horrific.

Camera itself was horrid, and felt it rummaging around.

Then trying to pee for the next few days was also agony.

Anything up the arse is 'enjoyable' in comparrison!

Every 6 months for the last 17 years ... :(

Routine checkups following an illness ..

Its a lot easier now .. the camera/cable is way smaller than it used to be ... old ones were about the size of co-ax cable .. they stung a bit ...  latest ones are very thin .. no pain at all just a little discomfort - you don't even get the gel stuff now ....

Oh .. and the pictures are now in full colour as well .. :)
