Public Thanks to Omegatoy
« on: 13 January 2007, 18:38:31 »

Just like to say a BIG 'Thanks' to Omegatoy  :y

Firstly he told me about this Senator, and he was spot on.

Popped around on the way back from Swindon, he had a good look over it, topped up the auto box fluid in seconds, told me how to properly change the fluid and check its level. Gave me a new water pump and replaced my coolant bottle!

So again, BIG, BIG thanks Graham  :y

Only returning the favour you did me mate, besides which isnt that what the forums are for? if someone has the knowledge that you dont then they share it,
simple!!! if everyone had to take thier car to a vauxhall stealer then all the secondhand cars would be scrapped cos of the rip off prices!!
I actually know of one garage that replaces a turbo when the only fault was a split boost pipe!! that way they can charge 700quid for it!! not to mention brakefluid changes that involve emptying the master cylinder and then refilling it with fresh fluid, and charging for flushing the whole system when the bleed nipples hadnt been touched!!!
And one garage that thankfully is no longer trading that carefully unscrewed the oil filter and then washed it out in the parts washer inside and out put it back on and charged for a new one!!! ;D

If only the Omega was that easy I'd pluck up courage to change the fluid in the MV6...

That seems to be the norm now with any manufacturer.....driving autos for years now....i can remember when the auto box had a dipstick.....run the engine and check the dipstick....seems a thing of the past now  :(
