Foreign Internet Scammers...
« on: 27 January 2009, 23:15:11 »

Normally it happens when selling a car, you get some idiot with a poorly translated message telling you they want to pay you 3 times the asking price for your car and they'll ship it abroad at their expense, well I have a "want it now" ad on ebay just saying i'm on the lookout for a Vec C, though i dont give loads of detail, someone messages me telling me he has the right one at a good price and i cant mail him back through ebay as he's ran out of messages to reply, so i mail him from my junk mail address to an e-mail address he gave (already aware of his intention as he's already mentioned he plans to ship a car over) and i ask him simply this: "hi you mailed me about the car for sale, can i have more details please?" thus giving nothing away and he says " freshen my mind, i have many cars for sale"

basically when i have a bit of free time in the evenings i plan on using it to string this person on as far as possible and lead him to believe i'm happy to waste £285,000 getting his imaginary car imported, and also to pay all his 19 children through college, does anyone have any advice on any other things i could do? IE see if i can persuade this person to come to my humble town?

Did the same with a Nigerian scammer that wanted bike parts and accessories to stock his "shop".
He would arrange for vehicles to collect the stock and we were to pay the shipping charge to The Microship Co. and he would re-imburse us in the final payment.

Asked for images of the vehicles collecting the stock so I could notify our main gate security to allow un-delayed access to our stores. He came back with an image of a huge U.S style rig.

One of the highlights was when he confirmed my request that all drivers involved were fully conversant with the 2005 E.U Directive for Harri-Cokey and that all vehicles were equipped with Flux Capacitors and 3 tonne Bar Waffles for loading.
Strung him along for weeks. He even set up a website for the shipping company(quite a good effort, fair play).

Singapore seem to be catching up with the Nigerian scammers in the last few months but they don't fall for the wind-ups as much as their english is usually much better.
Let rip...enjoy !  :y
