Steering Wheel Lights.....
« on: 29 January 2009, 18:30:32 »

Just out of idle curiosity, when I turn off my car and remove the key all the lights go off except the window switches (as the windows still work for a while) and the lights for the audio controls on the steering wheel (despite the fact the stereo goes off when the key is removed). They are still on when I leave the car. Why is this? Is there any reason? And how long do they stay on for? Does anyone care? Perhaps I should find something to do.....

I to noticed the same on my other half's miggy (M1CT) thats also a 3.2 elite, i drove car from my parents place home and looked to see if alarm flashing when locked car on our drive way and noticed this, came back 15 mins or so later and went out so looks like is an elite 3.2 thing....

Is it not a delay so you can shut the windows with the key? my Y plate 2.2 (and i presume my new one will, although havent tried) would shut the windows when you pressed and held the lock button on the key..

I think the electric windows are powered from the delay relay to allow tem to be closed after the key has been turned off and the light in the switch is powered from the same supply. Mine certainly stays lit too.
