Can't remember what ours was called ( in polite company), but it was shared between several schools, came in two tiers on a trolley and could only, add, subtract and multiply --- oh and spat the answer out on a punch card!

Times sure have changed.

At that age, we had one teletype to share for the whole school. The punched paper tape used to be sent off to the local Unigate dairy to be run on their mainframe. The paper output would come back 2 weeks later.

What a way to debug code!

I am 46 BTW.

do you remember the games that had to load off cassette tapes
with those dreadful sounds
and the flashing lines around the screen that use to put kids with epilepsy in hospital
