Thing is, i'd always spend the money to get the car 'right' which means i'd then keep it for a long time. Also, I can't think of any other big RWD saloon that I prefer to have over the Omega.

mk 2 2.8 ghia x beats a omega any day of the week!!![sorry]

Not on modern roads in the real world.....(sorry!)  ;D ;D

More comfortable lol. It's only a lot easier to work on because it's so out dated now (at the time it was excellent I had 3). More reliable a cambelt comes every 40 thousand every 4 years and just because that and it has sensors that makes it more unreliable? I would safely say that the Granny would be more unreliable to be honest also from what I remember the Omega is a much better drivers car. But that my opinion.

Having owned a 2.8 Granada Scorpio... at the time I thought it was the best car ever, and would never be beaten as a towcar either .....  then it had to go and it was replaced by the 2.5 Omega Elite, and I have to say the ONLY way the miggy "lost" to the Granny was the fact the miggy had a boot and the granny was a hatchback .. in every other way the miggy is, and I never thought I'd say it .. far better.

So much so that instead of keeping the 2.5 until it too died (my habit with a car I like), I traded it in early for the present Miggy .. :)

Seen an Omega CDX for sale facelift on a "W" plate.

Needs what looks like front and rear bumpers respraying to make it look good again because they are scuffed or paint peeling off them.
Slight rust patch on the lower edge of boot lid needs doing.
Looks tidy inside apart from the after market stereo, not the usual CCR2006 that should be there. Cloth seats and original CDX alloys are there.
Now the bad bits, 125,000 miles no service history and no mention of a cambelt change, but it's got 12 months MOT and 5 months tax, says all running ok drives good it's an auto................

How much would you part with if anything given lack of service history?
