I've got to kill about 7 hours in Hoddesdon next Tuesday whilst SWMBO is at work so... Any suggestions of things to do in the immediate area?

Blimey, I didn't think anyone ever comes to Hoddesdon!! ::) If you've not been there before, it's a pretty quiet town. Are you here for the daytime/evening or both? If you're about on the evening I could introduce you to a couple of the local public houses. [smiley=beer.gif]
If you've got a few hours to kill during the day, not much to do unless you're into walks in which case there's a pretty decent park a few nice river walks.

I'm there during the day... 9.30ish to 5ish! We've then got to continue on to the Reading area as it's my cousins funeral on Thursday. Figured as her company pays return mileage and we'll be about a third of the way to Reading we may as well continue down and get a cheap hotel room for the night! :y :y :y

If you take some paint and a brush you could paint something and watch it dry :y

Not a very exciting place!! Its a smallish town in Hertfordshire close to the Herts/Essex border. Approx 7 miles north of junction 25 of the M25 and about 20 miles north of central London. Largest towns close to Hoddesdon are Hertford (4 miles) and Harlow in Essex (5miles). You can check it out on Google Maps and zoom in just north of London.

Ah, I'll be at work during those hours so won't be around to show you the "sights". There's a couple of reasonable cafe's in the town centre or if you want lunch and a pint the White Swan near the clock tower is is pretty good. You could always drive a few miles to Hertford which is quite a historic town and a decent shopping centre. Good luck. :y
