Mine is a shade down from that -- it's OK from inside once you get used to it.  Only prob is rearward vision if you raise the blind (if you have one) but, that's what wing  mirrors are for !!!  Remember, it's not legal for tints forward of the B pillar.  8-)

Agreed, I got the estima windows done when I got it for the same reasons (so people couldnt see in to see what kit/luggage was inside).
I asked the dealer at the time about shades and by chance he had a couple of vehicles there at the time that he could show me. The first was a rather blinged BMW with very dark "limo" glass, which looked great from the outside, but not so good from inside visibility (imagine driving in sunglasses at night and youll get the idea). The next was quite a light tint which was still quite see-thru and didnt look particularly good and the third, most popular ,was a step down from limo tint which looks "blacked out" from the outside, but actually lets in quite a bit of light from the inside. Most places that do tints will have examples of the different shades for you anyway, but like the count says , wont be able to do windshield or anything in front of b pillar, which may give you an odd look. This is fine on the estima, but dont think Id do it on the mig personally.

i had the windows on my black facelift MV6 tinted and it looked outstanding. limo black on the rear windows and a light legal tint which lets 95% of light through on the front driver/passenger windows.
visibilty was fine from inside but with the darker rear windows it gave a great deal of privacy even in the front.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Not any more -- technically any film ahead of the B pillar is no longer legal. However, you are unlikley to be stopped for a light tint.

if you are going from rear of front doors back you can go as dark as you want.

Front doors are a no no, Devon and Cornwall Police are having a clampdown and now have light meters in all traffic cars, if they see the fronts done they will pull you and tell you to pull it off, i'm not sure if there is a fine involved.

you would have struggled to get tint that would allow 95% light through, the standard tint on an Omega allows 75% light though
when you look at the writing on the window it has a percentage figure against it, that is the amount of light being allowed through that glass.

We had this debate at Rufforth (York) reference the 70% printed on the windows. Almost all cars had the same amount of visible tint, however Stuarts car had a noticably lighter tint on all his windows. But all cars had the 70% that you talk of. Even my Astra Shed has 70% on its windows but again, they're nothing like the tint on my Omega.

the markings on that piece of glass denote that it is 30% tinted.

Blue tint comes across as lighter than bronze or green

I can only say what we saw. Suart's looked much lighter than the other Omegas there, and there's only one colour of tint for an Omega ... as far as I've been told.
