Seatbelt warning buzzer
« on: 03 February 2009, 16:49:47 »

How come Vauxhall / Opel introduced a crappy buzzer noise when the ignition is turned and seatbelt not engaged? The 'ding ding' sound that Ford cars have is much more pleasant.

Not aware of any seat belt warning on UK market cars. If there was, mine can be added to the list of things that don't work. ;)

Sorry, mines an Opel. I just get this horrible bbbbuuuuzzzzz for about 10 seconds, then it goes out. Perhaps some of the other Opel owners might be able to confirm if they have it. :-/

The Astra H has an annoying alarm (ding ding ding IIRC) that starts a minute or 2 after driving if no seat belt fastened.  :-?

The old man had an Opel omega he bought here before he started buying them in Britian. Never hered any sort of seatbelt buzzer :-?

Must be just a local requirement :-?

If its not a legal requirement to wear seatbelts in your country and you dont want to....then why not plug the belt in and sit on the belt  :y

Mine just doesn't let you take the key out. Or at least it didn't until I disabled that system when it wouldn't let me have my key back!

There's a buzzer if you open the door with the key in - or leave the lights on. Surely manuals have that too?
