What do you reckon about this tent?
« on: 02 February 2009, 22:59:45 »

I am having to buy another as the "Barbie Tent" I dont think is good enough to expect my daughter to spend the weekend in.

Now are big tent is 5000 hydrostatichead but I have been told this is good enough for our weather in this Country...

What do you reckon?

I've had a few Vango tents and they have been OK. That'll be OK in most summer weather but expect it to get a little damp inside in incessant heavy rain.

Looks good value for money though.

In my Scouting days Vango was the way to go with small mountain tents. :y

A reasonable tent for the price.....  Would consider it a 2 season tent, perhaps 3 at a big push.  In other words, summer use, edging into late spring/early autumn, think it would be a bit damp inducing any earleir/later due to lack of ventilation/waterproof/breathability options....   :y

So is a 2000 HH what you'd be looking for for our usual camping at meets then Broocie?
I'm thinking about an anderson shelter like TB's myself.

> Front and rear flysheet vents with covers allows continual airflow enhancing comfort

> Rain gutter zip covers keeps zip dry

> PE waterproof groundsheet 5000HH minimum ensures dry inner tents

> Breathable fabric inners creates a comfortable sleeping area

> Mesh vents on inner allows continual airflow enhancing comfort

> Part mesh on inner door reduces build up of condensation and keeps bugs out

If it actually does all that, a fair tent for event use, I would say.... :)

Well our big Outwell one is 5000hh.. but the camping madman who we saw reckoned that a tent to withstand wind was a big factor, as we found out in Angelsey, the wind was howling and I ain't joking, tents were getting flattened, broken poles but ours just stood it was really impressed but it was dear....
