I only have one credit card with a really low credit limit, I use this to buy my computer parts.
Anyway, due to illness etc, I allways set up a standing order in the case of there being a balance on the card to cover the minimum payment, in case I forget to pay it or am in a postion that I am laid up and cant be arsed to pay it.
Had a balance of approx £145 so after phoning up the company to get thier bank details they said the minimum payment was £10 so I set up a standing order a week in advance of the due date.
Then to be honest I comepletely forgot to pay the whole balance of as I am packing to move. Checked the 1st few statements, all going well, balance dropped below £100 and the interest charged was negligible. I then just put the next few statements to one side without checking as I saw the company through the envelope window.
WHAT A MISTAKE I MADE
Cheeky Sods uped the minimum payment on all cards from £10 to £25. Which means the last 3 months I have had a £12 late fee added each month. then the last statement I seem to have lost, they have created annother charge.
OK, my fault I know, but the sods dont miss a thing in the current climate to bring extra cash in.
