And the Ventora........3.3 litre straight.six.........if memory serves....the first one .......not the ugly bastard with the deep grill was best in my opinion. :y :y :y :y.

Like the hiace van i used to drive, was a cool idea, why didnt it catch on/stay????

Like the hiace van i used to drive, was a cool idea, why didnt it catch on/stay????

Yup. used to have a hi ace pick on the column. Some Corsairs had them as did the Renault16, Ford Thames Van, Saab 96 & more. Probably the reason they never caught on was the slow change & maintenance of the many bushes in the linkages which if worn made it hard to find any gear.
     Certainly fun to drive, something different, i'd happily have another. :y

Wow. nostalgia. Always loved the 375 hi line Consuls Forgot the Mk3 Zephyr4 i had when i was 18 (1982 i think), column change, maroon, grey leather, 1700 pre crossflow straight 4. The reg. was FLY something C. It did'nt fly by any means but i loved it! 8-)

My Mum and Dad had a two tone green 101 F reg (1968) estate from new. I remember it vividly. The interior was grey. Funny how looking at those pics flashes back details I did not realise were still in my head. Parts of the dash, the door handles, ash trays and window winders. Wow

We once put a 3.3 Ventora lump into a PA Cresta- it got about 100 metres down the road before the axel disintegrated :o
