I work from a NHS building, though they are not my employers. It is a private rented industrial estate.
The previous car park company used to clamp, if not in a proper space. Now I have a blue badge, it is illegal to clamp a vehicle displaying a blue badge, so I got a parking ticket, I challenged it and it was cancelled. There are no disabled parking bays, which is also illegal and an ongoing argument. Anyway there is now a new company monitoring parking and they do not clamp, but give a ticket and the sign clearly states that disabled are not exempt. When I can, which is mostly I park in an appropriate bay, but sometimes I can’t, so take a chance, will challenge if I get a ticket. The local council seem to suggest that these tickets are not enforceable, I am happy to test the system, easier with a blue badge,   but most people just pay up because the ticket suggests a higher fine if not paid in 14 days.
I only display the blue badge if I cannot park in an official bay.

Do they charge for shopping visits then, thought it was only if the car was parked and you could not produce a receipt.

I think these shops, in busy towns are quite protective of their car parks. When I lived in Hertford the Tesco store, in the town centre, had a system and a barrier, as long as you had spent some money in the store and had parked for less than 2 hours you were fine. Only really used on busy town days.

our local Tesco had one but they got rid of it,I think it logjammed the car park to much.

Couple of things here.  1st and foremost if the supermarkets allow these charges to carry on then surely they will lose trade.  I for one will not go to a supermarket anymore and have my stuff delivered.

The other thing, anyone that intends to charge you must put all the details on display at the car park at the purchase points.  If this Alsi branch has not done that then take a camera along and get some proof..

If it is a cam, then print off some A3 leaflets and put them under wiper blades, with a note on the window saying there is a parking scam in action, please put me under annother wiper.

Got a "Parking Charge Notice" in the post today from ParkingEye car park management, allegedley overstayed in my local aldi and they want £70 for the privilage (or £40 if paid in 14 days)

Apparently they use an ANPR system to log you in and out and then the good old tinkers at the DVLA sell them your details

Anyone had experiences of these scammers? :-/

write back and tell them if they had more than 1 till open in aldi you wouldnt be in the car park as long as you was. take the notice in aldi and tell them to sort it out. i chat to the old fella in halfords car park so he lets me go and do other shopping and i leave my car there, no ticket

Have to be reasonable here guys. I now work for a supermarket and its right next to the local football ground so whilst, ordinarily, people parking but not shopping is not a major problem (outside of xmas etc) on match days it is. This means that not only cant customers get a space but neither can staff. We now employ a company to monitor the car park and it works, I mean the time limit is 2 hours but they are reasonable about it as you obviously dont want to p*ss your customers off , but on the other hand its taking the piss if get people spending 5 mins in the shop then thinking they can park for 4 hours. If it was your business you'd feel exactly the same if it meant loss of custom because other people were taking up the spaces in your carpark. Main cause of it all, for us at least, is that people try and park all day for nothing rather than pay to use the multi-stories (of which there are plentiful). Can see their point as we'd all do it if we could, but surely you can also see it from the otherside? As for the DVLA info, this has been widely available (for a small fee) for some time, tho of course this doesnt make it right!!

in my job as a shopfitter i have to pay a fortune in parking every week, usually 11 a day and i have to shift it about sometimes, some give you consesscions and others wont. even had tickets, bit of charm and politness can go along way to resolve it ive found instead of the extreme language one usually uses

As i work for a company who is in this line of work....I would be careful not paying there are avenues of appeal you can go down 1st...Just remember that a lot of these companies are owned by baliff companies so they can and will add charges to any unpaid fines.....Always goto the store which you used and parked outside of if possible and speak to the manager as a lot of the time they can and will cancel the PCN to avoid losing your custom don`t approach the car park attendants as they will/cannot revoke them they wont risk losing their jobs or getting into trouble..I know this 1st hand....If in doubt always take photo`s at the time with a disposable camera or decent camera phone and don`t get into arguements with the employees as this kill your arguement dead as we are told to instantly report any problems right away with the ticket number so that they can dismiss any appeal on the grounds of you where agressive and abusive....hope this helps folks...

fight it all the way , we are having majour problems up here at hermiston gate were they fitted one of these systems , guess what after the local papers got involved in serveral cases the system is in the process of being removed due to so many errors.heavy rain it cant read, snow it cant read, sun to low it cant read...... and they got cheek to send inforcement orders
