Me & my mate were chating about cars we've owned over the years & he said he thinks that Triumph made the first injection engine or injection unit? I haven't a clue so i thought i'd put to the OOF & see what's said.

Jusr remember that Fuel injection has been the corner stone of diesel engines since the 20's!

I seem to recall the first production car with petrol fuel injection fitted was on a Merc.

The yanks had a VERY crude electronic job in the 50's

I was just about to add........that Triumph had another first......I think that the Dolly Sprint was the first mass produced British car with 4 valves per cylinder ............in 1973.........I could be wrong though.

Yep.....dead right.....1967.

Wrong - TR5 came out in 1968 - TR4A continued upto late 1967.  My TR4A is a late 67 motor.  Check out the TR Register (of which I have been a member since the 70s!)

Based on a Lucas system, 150psi pump, rest of system set up mechanically (using feelers!!)  Remember my 69 TR6 used to be a bugger to set up properly.
