Agreed, think some of the funny ones are good, but dont think I could justify the money. Guess if you can afford an Aston Martin or something you could afford a nice personalized plate, but otherwise...

Hate to be a party pooper but how old is the Mig you are going to put the plate on ? From your photo, and my eyesight, it looks like a Y reg. You cannot put a 51 plate on anything older than a 51, you cannot make the car look younger than it is. You will probably know this already but I have mentioned it just in case and before you part with your hard earned cash.

Always get a plate from the DVLA. Cheapest and most reliable.

Bought one for SWMBO for her 21st.

245

A work colleague bought a brand new Corsa VXR with the 888 pack.

 :y

He said, "I am thinking about getting a private plate, got priced at 650."

Cr@p, I said

2mins later I found T80VXR and T80RSC (his initials)

When I explained T80 could read as turbo, he bought the 2nd straight away.

again

The registration companies just sell the plates the DVLA are selling.

(albeit at a huge markup)

I wanted a private plate for the Beastie. I considered initials & OOF plates ie G1 OOF or G1 GJM (my initials) but no one else knows what it means & i'd get sick of explaining it.
I settled for L9 MUF, no need to go into details :P, but it's funny & a nice short plate for £139, plus transfer fees.
Not sure what i'd do if i had a 51 upwards car. You can't shorten the new reg's.
