got stuck far to easily....................
« on: 14 February 2009, 19:04:45 »

parked my car on a little bit of snow outside my daughters place earlier and went in to pick her up.
on my return found out that i was just gonna sit there spinning my back wheels !! tried rocking the car, gently revving, lock to lock -all to no avail. we had to push the car off of the small bit of ice at the rear in the end how scary- this car worries me in the snow.................. :-/

Sounds to me like you need to learn to prep your car and drive it in the snow!

Try the jag in the heavy snow we had last night!  Doing 20mph in snow about 2" thick, anything more than the slightest touch on the accelerator and the back end would kick out with the DSC going mental.  Then pulling away from the lights took nearly a whole phase!  The germans behind me must not have been impressed  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've had no issues, apart for just over a week ago getting on the driveway in the tractor.

Also, as people like to moan about the Omega's TC, I have been purposely testing that, and it has been utterly flawless.

Carnt comment on Omega TC as my 2.2 didnt have it......but in my Viano....RWD with no weight over the back wheels, it is rubbish on ice/snow.....ive been turning it off and giving it 'large'  ;) :y
Got me outa a few stuck positions by doing that  :y

no troubles here, i had a dig some stuff off the drive so i could get off ok, but once on the road its was fine, kept it in 2nd whole time, put some extra weight in the boot to help, + full tank of petrol.

Worst time was i drove out in 4" thick snow, i was one of the first out, our estate roads did not get ploughed, tracked well. Just remember not to touch the brake, only use 2nd, you need about 1% throttle!

The Mazda is crap in snow, slush, ice, rain, any kind of moisture on the road and it just lights its front tyres up. :D
