I wasn't to hot on the electrickery side of it as it was pre-installed.

It does tend to blow the plastic bellows to bits when it backfires  :o the car is then undrivable as it wont start.

I had a spare set tucked in the storage pod in the rear. Or use a roll of gaffer tape.

I only had issues when the ignition system was not performing due to a cam cover leak.

shame as it would have served as a good reference!! have you any old pics i could have of the install?

can you remember or maybe you know where the wiring goes to pick up all the signals for the leonardo controller?

i'm thinking of putting the lpg kit on from my dead rangerover v8, any do's and donts? really any info would be good, did you have backfires and did it damage anything when it did?

any info you can give will be a great help in ironing out potential problems!!

cheers

Don't bother!!! Mixer type systems will eventually backfire and could potentially do damage. As a cost saving exorcise you could re-use the tank but for the cost of a brand new front end sequential kit which is proven to work on the miggy (under £400 IIRCC) I wouldn't mess about with second hand ::) ::)

My kit, complete with 4 hole tank and all fittings etc, cost about £650-700. A couple of days work and it's all fitted and there's plenty of support for it on here :y :y :y

Just my opinions :y :y :y

forgot to add, i'm confident of the mechanical side of installation up to the end of the vapouriser, after that i was thinking of aquiring two of them blos carbs, they look good and seem ok in principal. i'm not too sure of the electrikery, i would hope to link in rather than chop wires where ever possible so the kit can be removed if i screw up or change to another or indeed go out on another whim! lol!

and also where is the best place to install the vap, i want it to be accesible obviously but below the water line so as not to cause air locks!

and finally, the car is in daily use, i would prefer to keep on using it and do the installation over a weekend, is this a tall order? the only part that i can see as bieng th'crux' is the elec. so it may take 2 w/ends??

My sequential installation took me a day and 2 halves start to finish... Can you update your profile with a location please as there may be people nearby who could lend a hand :y :y

by bellows i assume you mean the corrugated intake pipes, i was thinking of putting one of the boyracer air filters on as this was done on the range rover and did help a bit to limit damage!  and possibly replaceing the rest of the pipes with the silicone variety(or whatever is a bit more robust than plastic)

ive also toyed with the idea of a lightly sprung blow off device in the air intake system, got ideas but nothing made up yet!

mine also has the rocker gasket issue which needs doing before the lpg so this(hoefully) wont be an issue, at least not initially! also got to clean all the air intake and plenum, and basically bring it up to a good working standard before i go and mess with lpg!

Gav, please see the links below for both my,and Kevin's DIY sequential fit... I can't emphasise enough that the mixer type system is both uneconomical and potentially very expensive (when it back fires)

Wasn't Markey desperate to get rid of one recently???

But TBH if it's more than £250ish I'd stump up the extra for brand new, with a 2 year warranty which has already been proven as worthwhile after Jay W(?) had issues updating the ECU Firmware and fried it ::) ::) ::)

bloody hell, quite overwhelmed with responses there.

if the front end kit can come in at under £400 then its a definate for my next car(hopefully a 3.2 saloon with bells and whistles) coupled with a tank then thats what i will budget for when i buy one.

the current car cost £350, i think it would be unwise to spend £400 on it as once i have a newer saloon it will be demoted to father inlaws weekly runner, to work on a monday morning, 6 miles, and then home on a saturday morning(lorry driver) then maybe a bit of w/end tip runs.

i have the kit available and its more of a tester type experience rather than wanting to make a perfect(commercial grade) installation. although as an ex gas fitter it will be done to the book on safety!

i will be giving it some thought and see how viable it is, i will need to look at the setup over the w/end a try and come up with a plan.

i'm looking forward to installing a sequential after seeing the pics, i love a neat installation, gives a better look than some of the rough things i have seen!

one of the reasons for the blos carbs as seen on fleebay, is that i was gonna get an older engine for the rangie and the system could then be swapped back on to that and enable me to put  the GREEN back into green laneing once the miggy estate became defunkt
