best way to clean this

whats the best way to clean this plastic engine cover on ann's tigra
looks like some sort of paint
i want to get it off without wrecking it

Nitromoors!! Best stuff you can get does exactly what it says on the tin. Mind you though you will need to repaint it.

car paint polishing stuff..but not a strong type..

make some examinations on a corner then make it completely..

looks like that gear car dealers spray over the engine to make it look pretty[ i think its a laquer], the trouble is it goes yellow like yours has, as for getting it off you could try wet n dry with plenty of water or you might find some of it will chip off, its a sod when used on plastic though >:(, perhaps the best bet is another cover ;)

its a waxy substance dealers put it on its bloody horrible stuff jizer or parrafin will get it off ! do not use nitromoors it will melt the plastic !!

i saw one in the scrapy when i went to get a new water bottle as the top of the one that was on it blew off in my face hot water every where so had to goto scrapy for one of those but the one in the scrapy someone had brush painted it red and looked a right mess

If you do use this stuff, make sure you DON'T get any on you & if you do wash it off immediatly.
Wear two or three pairs of latex gloves :y :y

ill try g3 as ive got some left in a tin i had from the garage i used to work at

if i respray it do i need any certain paint due to heat from the engine

aint tried that ill have a go tomorrow and get it off the car and see what i can do

i got the hospital in the morning because they found something on the mri scan

go on msn ill speak to you there :y

I got some heavy duty floor laquer stripper at work, used it to get this carp off before, works a treat :y
