My advice, if you can afford it, is go for one that has a usable area, and that you can stand up in it.  The hyrostatic head is important, as it defines, in a roundabout way, how well is copes in rain - lower numbers mean its much damper inside when it rains.

Obviously if you can guarantee fantastic weather, none of the above matters.  But in this country, thats not a dead cert - as the lakes and newent last year proved ;D (not that the rain dampened spirits)

what sort would you recomend for me
in the past ive just gone out and got the cheapest tent that looks like it will do the job
i did have a good one but had to get rid of it when we had our second boy
i wished i kept it because it was a really good tent
it survived a heavy down poor high winds and a thunder storm

Those Outdoors stores are quite dear, even with discount card.  But worth a look around to see whats available, and get advice.  An independent may be better for advice though

Nick theres a go outdoors place on the bilston rd opposite evans halshaw vauxhall and as the guys say go and pick the brains of experts and you will be able to see the tents on dispaly and get a feel for them rather than buy them from arguus and find out they aint any good...hope this helps
