Lowest value coin you'd pick off the floor?
« on: 26 February 2009, 23:54:41 »

What is the lowest level coin you would pick up off the floor?

It must be 20p these days for all that effort of bending down. Last year it was 50p but this credit crunch is hard!

I know a millionare who when he stops at traffic lights or is in the queue at Dartford, has a good look around to see if anyone has dropped any coins, when he sees one (even a 1p) he jumps out of his car (an F reg montego) and picks it up.
never been on holiday in his life ,never been married either, sad isnt it.

I was once in the accounts office of a company that runs quite a few other companies and a lot of them are cash.  I was trusted and went in and out of the place quite a lot.  One day the head accountant was rattling away to me and we were on about turnowver (Daily)

He said to look through the cheque tray behind me to get an idea.

25,000
4,700
37,500
175,000
460,000
750,000.02   ??????

I questioned the 2p, and was told of the admin charges for shortfall and late payments etc, and was told it would have been sent back and charged had the .02p ben left off.

Then told Why do the think the family who tun are all multi millionaires and never borrow from the banks but lend to big business.

Annother guy (millionaire) I know used to carry 2 fag packets.  1 packet was full for him.  The other had 2 cigs in.  Allways in a long meeting he would have a cig and give the last one away.  As the meeting progressed he allways chain smoled everyone elses, when the fags ran out the meeting seemed to end suddenly.

Part reason why the rich stay rich, they allways smoke someone elses fags.   ;D ;D

It would have to be a £50 note.

But I would not dream of picking it up myself.

I would get my Butler to do it for me. :-* :-* :-* :-*

Some people drop coins - shrug then wander off.

Jack is good at money finding, under counters, in coin machines, on pavements.

He has found quite a few £1 coins, and at a local supermarket there is large box called coinstar, constant source of small change. ;D

A mate of mine used to carry a hammer and chisel arround in his car and reckoned he has collected a fair bit of silver over the years.
