Not sure what to do now....
I think i get frequently post returned to sender...as non deliverable...
I have complained to my local sorting office....several times
Sometimes i get my mail....other times i dont
I have had letters from my mortgage comp returned (advising on interest rate changes)....discovered after phone calls to them....after changing my mortgage over the phone and never getting the paperwork to sign (i have now)
Latest prob is my elec and gas bill.....will  have to check with southern elec....but it looks like my orignal gas and leccy bill got returned deliverable.....as i recieved in the post today....what looks like black and white copies of the bills and ive now missed the discount date for early payment.  >:(

Other things i have noticed is 'sig required' mail just gets shoved through my letterbox.....not signed for

Is there somewhere else i can complain apart from local sorting office??  :-/

Sounds like your postman is as rubbish as ours. We get most of next door's mail. What is it about the number 3 on our door that's so hard to grasp? >:(

Change all your accounts to online ones and if you think it could be ID theft, then confirm with sender if they were copies or not, then if they wernt then I might be tempted to advise your banks and plod to be safe, of get your banks to issue new cards to make attemps harder expecially if they have copied bank details.

our post is crap and the postman is a right arsehole

when i had my bulbs off flebay it clearly said fragile do not crush on the packet and the t**t was ramming it in to the letter box for 5 mins before he rang the door bell

we have alot of post go missing mainly gas and electric bills we are on pre payment meters and used to get the odd bill just saying the payments we have made we aint had none for ages

best thing is to complain to your post ofice and if your worry about id theft which i know i would be that get straight in touch with you bank and the company you use for your bills etc and possibly pop into your local plod shop and see what they say to help you with

There was a story on the local news a couple of days ago about an Ipswich postman who had "held back" 70,000 items of post over 2 years.  Don't know what he did with the stuff...

Nah - I got the impression he was just too bloody idle to walk round delivering it... :)

a while ago on the news i think there was a postman that used to stick all the post he had to deliver back in the post box for return to sender so he didn't have to deliver it

well going by 1 of my mates who was a postman before he got the sack. if he was running late what was left in his bag was binned. he lost 3 full bags one day when he had a hangover, didnt know where he put them. then a woman rang the sorting office to say she found them in her garden. nothing was done about it, just got a ticking off and carried on as usual.
if i get anyones mail, straight in the bin. not my problem  :)

when i moved in here 3 yrs ago, i got about 15 letters a day for this bloke who lived here, kept sending back but it went on for about a yr. so i decided to open them. all from banks, a lot of debts in thousands. so i rang every one up and told them he doesnt live here and i was told he was murdered in this flat 6 months before i moved in. they still send them. and you wonder why banks are in such a mess. useless incompetent staff who are totally brain dead.

I have exactly the same problem except I sometimes get other peoples mail but not my own!!!

After 5 years I've given up complaining and get most stuff sent to my parents address!!! As for gas & elec bills I've gone paperless.

please people stop having a go at the postie
sometimes it not the regular person and someone who covers the duty more often other people prep the deliver before some poor postman has to deliver it and when out all they check is the number and not the road because they rely on the others to get it right
years ago there was plenty of time to check and make sure items were deliverd right but no more

as for your probs most of the bills and alike are processed by tnt and mail fast and other companys and not royal mail all they do is deliver the stuff at a loss so its now not only down to royal mail
u could complain but moral is so low at the moment that it wont matter to the postman or his manager because were all waiting for the time when where made redundant inc me i have 23 years service in at the moment and just live from week to week now
