Am i right in thinking they still make Meastros in India :-/ :-/ :-/

I think you might be right. They have only just stopped making the Hillman Hunter in, can't remember which Country :-[
I believe that there is an enormous stock of part's including body's for Rover SD1 cars in India as well.
 :y

Hunter = Paykan, and it was Iran.

The Monty/Maestro are being suitably re-hashed in China on a regular basis - Montego front end (long nose) on a Maestro arse - SOOOOO out of proportion!

I loved them and they were quite quick for there time but they rusted as quick as they went. They only made 505 of them so quite rare :)

What you as well.......!  December 1977

And as it's sitting in the garage just now. :y

Incidently, there's a MG Metro (non turbo ) sitting in a garage of a house we maintain over here. It belongs to the wife of the owner who can no longer drive due to failing eyesight but they wont sell or dispose of it believing it to be an appreciating asset .....Mmmmm ?

I never saw any Rustin Maestslows in India......plenty of Fiats though!

The Maestro turbo was a rather awful car, a classic example of how not every car is capable of and ever should have an engine above 1600cc in normaly aspirated form!

I always much preferred the Manta over the likes of the Crapi, it handled and drove a shit load better to with better engines to boot!

I wonder if the Crapi's rear cart springs had anything to do with its crap handling?  ::) :y :y
