I would tell all -- otherwise they might expect you to cough up for it !

I would come at it from a different angle -
Complain to the council about the druggies and the criminal damage and see if that helps

And all they will do is take a look and say "yes it needs replacing, We will be back in two weeks to repair the fence".

Usual council trick cos you think they are going to replace it and they don't. (Knowing my luck they on the day they turn up).

What a load of 'dangle berries', tell them you don't do rent till June then either.  Just typical of this country, take your money but give sod all back when you really need it >:(.   I Spose they have overspent on their budget and have no money till that time.  What excuse did they give for not doing outdoor work this time of year.  We had a council property which was in need of doors/windows/central heating they certainly done that in the midst of winter a few years back and that was bloody cold, especially with two youngun's.  Hope you get it sorted.

i did it when we had the lead pinched off our roof
caughts the little gits

they said they would repair it and never did and we had rain coming in from the roof part
so i repaired it my self and never paid rent

they still asking for the money from the week rent i missed

it cost me to fix it so i took the money from the rent
i think i paid about £5 rent that week instead of £80
