Some companies are doing well
« on: 05 March 2009, 14:26:06 »

The devaluation of the pound is helping some companies.

A while ago the caravan manufacturers were panicking. Now a lot are selling well, especially mid market vans.

More people are abandoning long haul for UK.

Looks like the UK holiday industry is doing OK

TBH I had decided in December that my holidays would be UK based in the Pikey Palace this year. We went for a day trip to France and got (near enough) 1 for 1 on the exchange so I told SWMBO that the summer holiday with the caravan by the Italian Lakes was off!

We're having it at Newent now :y :y :y

Hmmm, I've seen a few Omegas being driven embarrassingly slowly pulling mobile bonfires.  No idea if they are members here though...

Certainly not me... Last summer I got fed up with a boy racer "giving it large" to his mates and embarrassed him by beating him away from the lights and then the next 2 roundabouts, complete with the Pikey Palace ;D ;D ;D ;D

Needless to say he didn't try again! ::) ::) ::)

Must have cost you a fortune in crockery though - or do you use plastic?  ;)

I once outdragged someone off the lights with an 8 metre long glider trailer (containing a glider) behind me. Happy he wasn't but it served him right for carving me up.

Just carrying in speed helps - traffic lights - slowed down then booted on green - beat a queue even with a 2.0 ;D
