Is there some tax evasion scam or something similar going on with registering a car in the Isle of man ive started to notice lots of cars with Manx plates just wondered why?? anyone know

the isle of man is a tax haven so its quite poss unless cos they are not under the same gov as us they may just be over here for a bargain :-/ :)

hmm the cars i notice are high spec execs Mercs & Audi's etc

Their free 'Historic' vehicle excise duty/road tax is still on a rolling 25 years .....  :-? Ours lasted just a couple of years before this shower stopped it.

Like the ones I have seen recently from Luxumberg, in the type of car, and them personally, looking as though paying £200+ was like paying for a Coca-Cola; i.e. pocket money! :D :D :D

Yup, flat rate 22% tax for all incomes, no matter how high.

Father tunnie does a lot of work over there, whilst its good for tax, they sting you getting on and off the Island, return flights are about £200!  :o

return on foot via ferry is around £20

I go for the races begining of June on the motorbike. It's knock on £200 then!

Crammed in like sardines, no seats and a rancid shriveled slice of bacon for £6!

It's not called Steam racket for nothing!


Bloody lovely place though, would quite happily live there if I could afford it.

that the boat then ;)

Boat not much cheaper when driving, still 3 figures return, takes bloody ages and then there is the North Sea to deal with.

That said i am tempted by a burn up there in a bike when i pass

yes The isle of man Steam packet ferry company rtamp the prices right up for the Time Trial period bunch of so & so's
