central scotland to stoke on trent

whats the cheapest way to get to Stoke on trent from Scotland

need to go there tommorow but its £89 quid on the train and 4 change overs

On a serious note a plane to Manchester and train to stoke?

I flew down to Manchester a couple of months ago.  Cost £59, I think, and from Embra...  And booked and paid for the evening before.  There were 5 passengers on the plane!

First flight out in the morning, got me there for just on 8 a.m.   :y

megabus to manchester = £16  and the train from manchester to stoke on trent is a fiver.

If its anything like the trip on it from Heathrow to Leeds it sucks took an age to cover the 200+  miles mind it seemed to stop at a lot of rinky dink towns on route :y
