What does this mean, should I be doing something? I don't allow updates since having some problems with a service pack that stopped me getting ontothe internet. Advice / suggestions in easy english welcome :-[

You really, really, really, really, really REALLY should be running automatic updates.

Failing that, subscribe to MS's email list for patches and apply manually, but thats a pain

Thought you had it on a VM under 2k server or something similar...  Not all shitty, guess it depends how its put together and compiled...  Still no issues on the setup I have running.

Still a VM, just not under Windows.

The Linux kernel is old, decrepid, undeveloped, dated, and just plain shite. Thats always going to be the fundamental flaw with it.  It doesn't matter how many bodges you put into later kernels to try to mask its defeciencies...
