What would you like to have done instead of what you are doing?
  I drive a truck but if not i'd like to be a dry stone waller. I'm impressed with the way these things are put together, proper skills.

I'm also impressed with how much money they get  

As for me i drive a coach but would like to drive hgv1 as you get more money, and the cargo doesnt moan at you

i am a Technical Operations Analyst for a mobile content company, i would have loved to be a traffic cop, however whilst i would love the driving bit, nabbing un-insured drivers, chasing people, its the chav scum i don't think i could handle, or the paper work!

I have thought about taking a LGV course...... way of recession proof my income, i have the disposble funds at the moment to make that happen, and it could give me and edge if i am ever made redundant and need to find another job, as i do like being behind the wheel!

Have thought about a LGV couse myself as I have some funds which could be spent on it. Also like being behind the wheel. Love current driving job but would hope to earn better money if LGV

From what i read you need to have a Class C first, then you can go for the bigger trucks, quite a few trucking places around here, as we sit in the middle of the M40/M1

Yeah i know when i lived in the MASSIVE Stoke on Trent i did my medical and theory ready for lgv2  because there was loads of work for the reason you just mentioned central location, and agencys were upgrading people to lgv 1,  but  moved back up bloody here and aint had the cash since

I'd want to be a mechanic. I spend all day doing contract review, writing partnership delivery statements, doing presentations, creating and updating financial models, and discussing minutae of legalese with lawyers.

It's only since I got the mig, and its' necessity to be constantly looked after, that has given me the confidence to get my hands dirty and actually do hands on work! It's so much more satisfying to step back after a job well done and be able to hear (and feel) the results when driving.

Started off on an engineering apprenticeship but now i design timber frame houses wish i'd studied to become an architect and basicaly do the same job i do now but get paid 4 times as much
