The Worth of Life Justice??
« on: 12 March 2009, 13:22:18 »

A couple lost their two children, and the father left crippled, in a car crash caused by a three times over the drink drive limit footballer, Luke Martin McCormick, doing 97 mph.  The driver got seven years in prison, but it is recognised he will be out in just over three years!

The journalist who threw shoes at President Bush has today received a three year jail sentence:

I know these two cases involve two separate countries and their justice systems, but how do we value life in the UK and dispense justice accordingly?? :o :o >:( >:( >:(

Unfortunately Cyclops and his bunch of leftwing social do-gooders misfits have completely tied the hands of the judiciary by failing to build sufficient prisons and instigating this stupid bunch of even more leftwing social manipulators

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/

and

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/guidelines/council/quick.html

A read of that will frighten you ... and remember ... whatever that list of stupidity imposes.. the actual time served will be much less .. usually 50% .. :(

So 10 years, that will become 5 for killing two :o :o >:(

No justice whatsoever for those bereaved! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( >:( >:(

In addition why was this sentence 10 years, when the footballer got just 7, both of which will be halved, when in both cases two people died????? >:( >:( >:(

It used to be that the sentence would be "hung by the neck until dead".   That was justice; a life for a life!  Controversial I know, but..........................!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Unfortunately, due to the leftwing social twits ... whilst the MAXIMUM sentence allowable for Death by dangerous driving" is 14 years imprisonment, what is called the "starting point" is only 8 years and the courts are then FORCED to

"3. Consider relevant aggravating factors, both general and those
specific to the type of offence This may result in a sentence level being identified that is higher than the suggested starting point, sometimes substantially so.

4. Consider mitigating factors and personal mitigation
There may be general or offence specific mitigating factors and matters of personal mitigation which could result in a sentence that is lower than the suggested starting point (possibly substantially so), or a sentence of a different type."

So it is highly unlikely anyone would ever get the maximum sentence. The Judges hands are well and truly tied. If they breach these guidlines the accused will simply appeal and has a chance of getting off on a technicality.

Since when was justice served in the UK in recent times. Police gather evidence pass it on to Criminal Protection Service (CPS) who are only interested in a prosecution which may bare no resemblence to the original charge anyway. Everyones human rights seems to overide everything these days even the pathetic excuse some muppet calls justice, why bother getting upset

He dodged them as quick as any politician dodges a straight answer, but no they did'nt connect so an assault charge is questionable. Attempted assault?
I think round those parts to throw a shoe at some one is the ultimate disrespective insult & highly frowned upon hence the harsh sentance. Appeal pending though. :-/
