I wont take less than £800 for it, Its worth more to me than £500, id rather keep it off the road till I get a job. That is all x
Hiya mate,
I'll have to be frank, I'm sorry, but I'm not in a position to give £800 for it.
While I agree with you that it seems to be worth that sort of money, unfortunately the market isn't going to see it that way, and with all respect due you'd be very lucky to raise that sort of money. At a guess, I reckon you would fetch £700 for it,
IF it didn't have the problem with the windscreen.
I asked around, and have found a 2nd hand screen that can be fitted for me at total cost of £200 - so just for example, if I paid £500 for the car, it would mean I'd have an Elite, for £700 - which is about the top whack, for an M reg.
Looking from a buyers view, If I paid £800 for the car, with the cost of the screen it would be £1000, and meant in the nicest possible way, you're not going to raise that kind of money on an M reg car with 103,000 miles on it. There are T reg ones with digital climate control and onboard sat-nav and side airbags going for the £1200 mark.
Another problem with these cars, is that although the 3.0 engines are lovely, coupled with the fact that it's an Omega, it does add to the depreciation!!
No pressure, if you don't want to sell then I'll certainly understand.
But regardless of whether you sell it to me - you do need to weigh up your options, because the longer the MOT runs out, and the longer it sits, the value will continue to drop significantly. Don't forget it's 12/13 years old
If you want any advice about what it's worth, ask more on the forum - the guys know their stuff and will give an honest appraisal.
If upon consideration, you would be willing to accept £500 in cold hard notes - drop me a PM and maybe we could do business at the weekend.
