What a relief.
« on: 15 March 2009, 21:47:57 »

have not been around lateley as much as i would have liked,
My wife has had some health probs, she has eptopic heart beats, its when the heart beats faster but irregularly, the worst case snario is she would need a bypass, she's only 40 fcs, so we been worried etc,she suffered what could have been a mini stroke this week but the quaks arnt really sure, but over the past 4 weeks she has gone for 2 myocrdicular perfusion scans  (prob pronounced it wrongly), blackpool victoria hospital has the best cardiac dept in the uk, we found out on thursday that the scans were negative which thankfully meant no bypass eeded, but, there is still a problem, i think this will be controlled with pills, but lets hope its that simple.

no they have not mentioned anything like that yet, quite frnkly that sound a scary option, but she is due to see the consultant in 2 weeks, i take that as a good thing, as if there was a really serious prob, they would have her in sooner

Not major, day job.

They stop the heart and then kick it going again, its similar to re-booting your computer!

This often helps an irregular heart beat, dependent on the cause of course!

Its interesting how all these hospitals claim to be the best in the UK, Glenfield in leicester plus at least 2 others in London also claim to be the best.

I suspect they are only best at one small niche thing....and wave the flag in a 'general' manner!

My Mum has had similar problems with heart rhythm recently. Looks like she is going to have to have the shock treatment to correct it. Just waiting for her blood to thin enough at the moment. Apparently it can work for minutes or years. No way to tell but at least it is apparently a very safe procedure.

She's not as active as usual - so down to a normal level. I only get offered a cup of tea every 30 minutes when I visit now. ;D

Well, I do hope everything goes OK. :y
