yep..English :y

 ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

My limit in Turkish was 'thank you very much' ....although I can say it ... I can't spell it! ::)  :y  :y

Spend many years for English ..I can talk much better in technical subjects due to schools.. ;D

The first time , I arrived in London it was a big shock..Talking was not problem..Understanding was the headache, as people  talk like a machine gun and spell different than I know :-?

My wife comes from the Philippines and she couldn't understand why English people couldn't speak English correctly....took a while for the penny too drop but she meant that most english people (certainly around my way) speak so much slang she couldn't understand them....add a strong accent and she had no chance.

Shes pretty good at picking up languages...speaks Tagalog & visayan & English fluently...Spanish and mandarin when needed.

I can order beers in French, does that count?
I can also speak Geek as I work with 'puters.

And apparently, last night, I was fluent in 'dangle berries' - does that count?

Trouble is courses and schools teach English without slang and accents..So you feel you came from Mars when you hear them ;D

Broad Yorkshire. Then schoolboy French and German. Spanish of late through necessity. Oh if only I had been able to learn Spanish at school. Worse is I live in a rural area where they speak broad Andalucian which bears little passing resemblance to real spanish. e.g. they don't pronounce any S's. The best is in the bar when they order a whiskey they say "wicky". Always makes me smile.

If your kids have a chance to learn languages then get them signed up for Chinese,Spanish and Indian in that order.
