Pressure hose fix
« on: 27 January 2007, 23:36:40 »

I have a barrel style Karcher 5.50 pressure washer with built in hose reel.  Went to use it today and Mrs C has obviously used it recenyly cos the hose was under the barrel and kinked in 3 places, where it's not been wound up and now it's split  >:(

Has anyone ever cut out the kinks well enough to withdstand 130 bar, or am I resigned to handing over £30 to Ebay for a new one? :-/

Thankfully I have'nt had any kinks in my one, really depends on how you're gonna fix it. Try e-mailing Karcher they may have a solution. Or the quicker way is to charge the missus £30 and get a new one :y

Have since had a look around don't appear to be any hose repair kits for the Karchers, think you mayl be resigned to a replacement, if you can't repair yourself.

I've 2 spare.  Used, but your welcome to one, for the cost of postage and a beer, next time we meet up.

Thanks Mike - £30 will get me 6m.  I've got 7.5m now so might as well try chopping it up first  :-/  £40 will get me 10m though, which sounds better  :)

If youve got any local pressure hose companies (the guys that fix excavator hoses) they might be worth contacting. May be able to fix yours or make up a replacement cheaper than buying from the manufacturer.
