Iirc refuelling is being banned, dont think its for this year though.
pit lane speed limits were introduced after a couple of people were killed in the pits,so a good move really.
im a bit unsure about the new points system tbh,it all smacks of yet more "walt disney F1" trying to artificially create a spectacle, but it is a fair point that it will encourage people to go for the win, although that could just put more emphasis on getting pole and then driving very defensively.

Defensive driving is normally slower, so people behind will be all over his pipes, itself creating some level of interest for the spectators...

True, anyone remember Gilles villeneuve in the poor handling Ferrari turbo (80/81)he had 5 cars behind him nose to tail for the whole race, but then someone would complain that it was unsafe these days, probably on the grounds that the close proximity to exhaust fumes could damage their complexion and put at risk future contracts with male grooming/skin care suppliers. :) ::)

It runs into a 2nd clip off Villeneuve/Arnoux at Dijon 79,arguably the best F1 race ever.

Maybe the grid should be decided by the previous race results,in reverse order. That could be interesting. ;)

They didn't protest. They just didn't agree. However what the teams did agree on was a different system whereby the winner got 3 points more than 2nd. Thus increasing the desire to win but without the potential for a driver with the most points not winning the WDC.

The governing body tried to introduce a regulation change after November 30th which is not permitted BY THEIR OWN RULES unless it has the unanimous support of all competitors.

Disagree, object, protest, argue, etc, it all means the same. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

The outcome is it will not happen yet, and frankly who cares when the fiscal world is in the mess it is.  There is no guarantee the people who sponsor the over inflated "sport" of F1 will be still in business come the season. ::) ::) ::) ::)

The truth is that new cars are not being sold (sales 59% down year on year in the UK for February 2009 :o :o),  so where is the money going to come from? :-? :-? :-? :-?

The British International car show is already a casualty, and that at least has some purpose towards selling product! ;)
