Its been 4hrs......

 And counting! Im giving up smoking today and this time im gonna make a REAL effort!! I woke just before 9am this morn and normally ive had at least 6 by now. Going cold turkey,so any tips will be most welcome. :y

Get those nicotine lozenges - the ones you suck, not gum.

they take away the nicotine craving and give you something to stick in your mouth as well, so dealing with both cravings at once!

However, you may wish to discount my advice as I still smoke. Quitting is easy, I've done it loads of times!  ;D :y

Last time i stopped for 9 months .... a few years back certainly but i found the patches really helped me  :y

I used Zyban although they don't prescribe it anymore ...... and prescribe Champix instead.
It worked for me. 7 years so far ....  :y

LOL  ;D  ;D I had no problems with Zyban, SWMBO has just been on Champix and so far ...... about 4 months ... has been OK. No suicsidal thoughts so far .....  ::)    ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Well done.......................I gave up in 1980.................yet still .....at times ..........I dream that I 'am smoking.

My last packet of 20 Gold Leaf.............cost me 51p......in 1980.....I have no idea what they cost these days. :y :y :y :y

My tip .............for giving up .....is to have something "suckable" that you can put in your mouth..........A girlfriend or wife ........may be of help in this respect. ::) ::) :y

Well done all of you. I'm not even going to bother, i love smoking & i'm still losing weight, it's working slowly, nearly 2 stone since January so that's what i'm working on.
    That said, smoking is bad news so best of luck. :y

Agree Zyban is good...mum was a 40 a day smoker for 40 odd years and stopped straight away with Zyban.

Silly cow started again thinking ""well 1 wont hurt"".

Going too look into Champix as i really want too stop.... :(
