Six months today
« on: 29 March 2009, 10:00:15 »

It is six months since I smoked my last fag. A big milestone for me as I had been a 40-a-day man for 35 years. Still on the gum but I doubt that will kill me and £10 a week for gum is certainly better than £10 a day for fags. :y

My next big one is Easter, when I'll have been without booze for five years.

Actually, 'keep trying' sounds a bit trite. It took me a long time to even want to try. I picked a time when I felt contented with my life. If you have issues, as I know you have, then it's not easy at all. But do try, the first month or so is a killer. Put that money in a jar and watch it grow. Dont spend it or give it away, ITS YOURS!

Well done, Steve, both on the booze front and the fags!

Medical opinion is that you will live longer (at least without booze and fags it will seem longer  ::)  )

Seriously though -- Nice One  :y :y :y

Well done. You've done the really hard bit now! [smiley=thumbup.gif]  :y

I think you need to be/have been a smoker to realise just how difficult it is to quit.
