MOT Failure!
« on: 30 March 2009, 19:34:33 »

Took the Mig in for it's MOT today and they failed it on the n/s washer jet which was just dribbling out and the rear number plate, apparently it had delaminated! I couldn't believe it, how picky can you get!  >:(

However, within 30 mins I had been to my local auto factors and had some new plates made up and while they were being done I popped home and cleared the washer jet with my air line..... all sorted and MOT passed!  :y

Oh believe me, they can be more picky  >:(

Delaminated number plates are an instatnt fail anyway, esp with the authorities needing good number plates for their ANPR

Yep, the facelift failed on headlight adjustment and he said he could not adjust it (Vx dealer).

I complained and told them to get it back in so they did.

At which point I adjusted the headlight without any issues and got a pass  :y

Fair point, but after all the hard work of replacing the head gaskets, oil cooler, cam belt and crank sensor I was a bit 'miffed', that it failed on such trivial things, not that I would have liked it to have failed on something major, but I'm sure you know where I am coming from. ;)

No mate, it was free, to be honest they didn't even really look at it. They could see that I had new plates on so that was good enough for them I guess.
