Conficker worm
« on: 31 March 2009, 10:07:40 »

There's a lot of hype surrounding this computer worm that is supposed to hit on April 1.

I did a quick look around the net and found this interesting bit at http://www.betanews.com/article/CERT-suggests-oneclick-Conficker-check/1238439417:

"CERT on Sunday issued a bulletin updating the infection situation and suggesting that if users are unable to load two particular URLS -- one at Symantec (http://www.symantec.com/norton/theme.jsp?themeid=conficker_worm&inid=us_ghp_link_conficker_worm, one at McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com/us/ -- it might indicate that the machine is infected, since Conficker interferes with access to those sites. Windows users may want to take a second to click for themselves."

I did a quick check and both sites open for me.  :y

No problems here but then as long as your anti virus is up to date as well as operating system you should have no problems :y
