Five year parts warranty
« on: 02 April 2009, 14:03:55 »

Further to my washing machine thread of yesterday. :'( :'( :'( :'(

I was pleased to find that my broken down Candy washing machine came with a 5 year parts warranty. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Luckily, my machine is 4 years and 10 months old.I was a very happy woman. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I contacted Candy/Hoover who cofirmed this.  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Any parts required are free of charge said the nice lady. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

There is just a NOMINAL LABOUR CHARGE OF £169 .I thought that it sounded too good to be true. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I can buy a brand new machine for that. :'( :'( :'( :'( :-* :-*

Blimey, and I thought the technician charge (coz they aint engineers!) from Hotpoint of 80 quid was steep!

Get a local techie to find out what parts are needed and ask Candy to send them -- no labour required -- you ( or to be more accurate, hubby) could fit them yourself.

Doubt if Candy will play though  :-/

Yes, i remember when I bought my first PC many years ago, the salesman said he can offer me a lifetime warrany on the parts. we both looked at each other and grinned. Yes he was a friend of mine, and we both knew it was an utter con.

As your hubby has changed the pump motor and obviously mechanically touched the machine you could find Dusty that you may have trouble if the engineer calls.  They may claim the warranty is null and void knowing how these companies love to wriggle out of their obligations!! :'( :'(

With a charge of £169 Lizzie, there is absolutely no chance that any engineer will be coming to my home. :-/ :-/ :-/
I need one of two possible things now.The first one is a miracle. That is that my machine suddenly starts working again.(highly unlikely). :-/ :-/
The second is that Mr Dusty pays for a new one.(even less likely) :D :D :D ;D ;D
