Filling
« on: 03 April 2009, 12:47:07 »

Had one this morning, £92 :o had to raid my paypal account as well (transfer to bank account)

Old metal filling broke up, all removed and a plastic one fitted instead.

Worst bit was the injections into the jaw :o

'kinell!

I had exactly the same this morning too. £49.

Was offered the option of no anaesthetic since it was replacing an existing filling and minimal drilling required!

yeah, right. ;D I've been dribbling coffee onto my keyboard all morning but a small price to pay!

However

Good dentist as having a dentist phobia - worth while
Private - when he had to stop doing NHS we followed
Plastic - costs more than amalgam
Numbing gel - injection not so bad

Just had my new stainless steel crown fitted this morning.  No need for injections luckily.
Don't think it's gone on straight though - dentist had to grind a bit off of it, but very sensitive , can't bite on it yet.  Will give it a couple of days to settle down, but may be faced with having it drilled off and replaced again >:(

I bet my dentist is cuter than yours, in addition to being half price. :-*

 ;)

Do they still do amalgam fillings? Haven't even been offered the option for years. Straight in with the UV cured white stuff.

Our previous Dentist was poor - she didn't care if she hurt the patients - so we moved to one nearer home who had just started after moving from another town to his home town - there ever since
