I have seen single, double and Quad LNB units.

Is that the max.

Still toying with idea's of Sky HD and PVR, plus what ever I may need for PC tuner cards.

Whats the max I can set up on a Sky dish?

Just trying to work out how many leads/connections I will need.  I know I posted and asked about a month ago but I cant remember (allready)

Am I right in thinginking the Foxsat twin tuner is 2 connections.

But is the Sky HD 2 or 4 leads.

Ive used a quad before seemed ok...but 8 thats just mad.

Wouldn't they more leads used effect quality.?

Also would the length of lead make a difference....say 10m 20m 30m im assuming there must be a max length before picture quality is effected. :-/

Interesting point.

I am putting the dish at the rear of the building.  This will be above my Study and I was going to put a sky extender on to go into the kitchen.  Main box I would have used a basic sky box but would have liked a PVR or computer media centre in there as well.

But then I need cables to go either arround the building or through it.  Shortest distance at least 10M and that would be for HD to the living room.  Even then I need to put TV into there as I will be setting that up with annother TV as a Gaming room, and games coneles and Computer etc but dont know if I can extend Sky HD.

Ultimately I want as many recording optons as possible where ever I am I can click and record.  Even if it just my old Video or DVD recorder.

Also like Martin I have loads of VHS thet I need to convert to disk and then dump the tapes.

As you can tell, this is a subject I hadnt really thought about untill it was getting late. :-/

PMSL, I was never properly educated.    But saying that I made loads of videos on a Fergusen 3v28/9 cant quite remember the model (Push button/wired remote) of the rallying that was on Granstand every Saturday.  They got played back it a Toshiba video I aquired a few years back and I couldnt believe how good the quality was.  I was expecting them to be really poor quality after watching DVD

Old video can transfer over quite well to digital formats, Takes up a lot less room!
