eBay good service.
« on: 08 April 2009, 12:57:03 »

With so-many bad stories concerning buying and selling on eBay...I`m just reporting a bit of really good service (for a change):

Bought a B.N.I.B Parweld XR914 auto-darkening welding headshield; `purchased late-yesterday as a B.I.N for £36. with '2nd class signed-for' postage incl.......it arrived this morning at 09.30 with a polite letter of 'thanks for the custom' inside.....what great service. :y

Mine fails safe, and darkens with no power, as I found when the battery started working loose. >:(

Certainly wouldn't go back to a manual mask.  :y

Interestingly, mine is dark when in the off position and requries volts to go light so fails safe (as it should really)  :y

No neither would i, but i do know a couple of people who weld for a living and although they swear by them they have had them fail while in use so it does happen, still a great device though  :y

Nope ::) ::) ::)

Confession time... I couldn't get on with a hand held mask and was too tight to buy an auto darkening so decided to try welding through squinted eyes and dark glasses :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

break me... Arc Eye hurts :o :o :'( :'(

I'll never be that stupid again ;) ;)

i also learned the hard way :-[ was arc welding and ended up with
only 45% vision :o

Be warned if a mask is intended for mig welding this means
DONT use it for arc welding! :-/

Was knackered for about a week!

thankfully fully recovered :)
