Sorry to pose this question, but I now there are some very knowledgable people here.  
Would anone no what auto trans oil goes in a 1998 Seat Alhambra 2.0litre 8 valve.
I have to change the auto box over easter and Seat want a fortune for 1 litre and won't tell me what spec the oil is.

You are right, not my cup of tea that's for sure. been on opieoils web site, they don't list an oil for it, so I looked up golf auto and they do quote 2 oils. But would they use something different just because of the extra weight ?
I should of added it does have VW stamped all over the box.

Ha ha, try totally unreliable, seems to be one thing the germans can't make properly, an auto box.

autodata just lists it as VW ATF would have thought dextron 2 would be ok
my sister in laws audi A3 just got a change in feb  with dexron 2 and that is going fine

unless the Germans in question work for Mercedes, in which case they can only make autos

I would doubt its Dex II!

Yes, merc spotting is easy these days, just look on the back of recovery vehicles!
