Seriously though, they aint too bad. They struggled through 2 administrative periods, and now belong to Virgin Media. Should make a turnaround for the better. Lets hope its better than their rubbish ADSL service.

I don't actually have much choice as they are the only cable provider in our area and in the flats where I live we aren't allowed to have satellite dishes, so no Sky. :( Apart from having a problem with my land telephone line which they finally fixed and compensated me for, I have no problems with them whatsoever. I think their cable TV service is damn good, particularly the "On Demand" channel as previously mentioned, which I think is excellent. :y

I suppose like most things, everyone has their own good or bad experiences with various service providers. Until I have a bad experience with NTL, they're ok by me. Each to their own eh? ::)

you hash, hash man.

Luckily I got it on Sunday, however for people who missed it again. PM me for details on how to watch it.

And by that last comment I obviously mean downloa..... i mean posting a VHS tape which i recorded it on  ;)
tis on my MCE, that also has streaming to internet capabilities now :D

If you subscribe to NTL cable TV its no problem.....Just press the "on demand" button, select "pick of the week" then select "BBC2", scroll through until you find TG and.....hey presto - watch it whenever you want and how many times you want.....magic! :y
Cable TV? Brackley? Now theres 3 words you don't hear in the same sentence....

Parents are now using freeview, i think its excellent! The BBCi loads faster on freeview than Telewest.

For some reason though it keeps failing to find ITV and C4, it see's all the other channels, and has a signal for ITV & C4 yet, the picture is just black  :-/

Do a software update or a re-scan it it picks them up fine  :-/
The ITV/Ch4 MUX is weaker, so may need to improve aerial/leads etc...

You should get a PVR and set up up to record every TG episode.

Just before Christmas I upgraded mine from 20GB to 100GB so it can record 55 hours.

One of the best purchases I had ever made.

Well it was pretty awkwards recording DTTV with a box and VCR as the box was pants (free one from Ondigital which ther forgot to collect when I had CAM working on the TV) and neither VCR had a Scart in.

So I bought the Pace Twin about a month after release - one of the best TV purchases ever
My Mum has the Pace unit, not bad, sometimes slow with the guide, and hopeless with you want to copy a program off to DVD to lend to someone...

Nah, you want a quad tunered (freeview) MCE...

Its got a fairly old coax lead going into the freeview box from the main Ariel socket. The main Ariel on top of the house is about 5 years old, reckon that's going to need replacing?  :(

At 5 years old, it should be a wideband. Though iirc, Oxford was C/D for analogue, and ITV MUX is 65ish UHF so would be covered.  I would say either aerial isn't powerful enough (Beckley is a fair way - 20m?) for the downleads are poor...

Replace the downlead first you get quite a bit of attenuation on a tatty lead
