someone had a lucky escape today
« on: 08 April 2009, 22:18:39 »

me and the lad played golf, the 7th hole goes along the main rd to heathrow. he teed off, way up high and the wind took it over the perimeter fence into the main rd, and it is a fast rd, luckily there was no traffic about at 1pm. no noise so no breaking suddenly or crashing when we left the club we see the ball on the kerb of the roundabout.

god did i shite myself when i see it fly over the fence. me and tom had a few words, but i felt bad after, these things do happen but luckily we learn by them :( :(

Similar thing happened when I was a teenager, on the Pitch 'n' Putt   between Swansea and Mumbles. My mate gave an almighty whack to what should have just been a mid distance chip onto the green.
The ball bounced it's way through 4 lanes of nose to tail bank holiday traffic...without hitting one vehicle.
I said something like "talk about lucky !" but got no response. I turned around and the toerag was about a hundred yards away, legging it towards the cover of the bushes.

Certainly worthy of a bollocking so I would not feel bad about it.
You have to remember that children are still elarning and its good to raise thier awareness of what could have happened (and thank god it didn;t!).

I trust you have accidental damage on your household insurance (or the golf course has it) coz any damage could rightfuly be claimed.
