Optical Illusions
« on: 09 April 2009, 21:37:44 »

If you take a look at the following picture, let me tell you .... It is not animated. Your eyes are making it move. To test this, stare at one spot for a couple seconds and everything will stop moving. Or look at the black center of each circle and it will stop moving. But move your eyes to the next black center and the previous will move after you take your eyes away from it - weird ?

No as I understand it, the brain is trying to interpret the visual signals coming from the patterns of yellow and blue, and it becomes confused in that process, thus giving the sensation it does.  It is like being on a train when it actually stops, but the brain often seems to suggest the train is still moving, but slightly backwards.

Anyone heard the "Virtual Haircut" that's doing the rounds on mobile phones.  Must be listened to with stereo headphones. Very clever. :y

OK m8 - here we go.

For this one you need to follow the instructions . . . .

1) Relax and concentrate on the four small dots in the centre of the pic for about 30 seconds.
2) Then take a look at a wall near you - any smooth single colour suface will do
3) You will see a circle of light developing
4) Blink your eyes a couple of times and you should see a figure emegring . . .
5) Who or what do you see

6) And is it a bloody miracle?
